I’ll just come out and say it, this may very well be my favorite non-traditional grilled cheese. I’m so sorry I didn’t share this recipe with you sooner, I had actually entered it in a grilled cheese contest but the time has come to let you in on this deliciousness though. Enjoy!
Ham, Pineapple & Sweet Chili Grilled Cheese (makes 4 sandwiches)
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Spread butter one one side of each slice of bread. Have all of your other ingredients ready. Place 1-4 slices of bread (depending on how many will fit), onto the heated skillet, buttered side down. Next start layering your other ingredients, I’d suggest the following order: ham, cheese, 1-2 spoonfuls of chili sauce, 2 slices pineapple, ham, cheese and another slice of bread (buttered side up). Once the bottom has turned a nice golden shade, carefully flip the sandwich to grill the other side. Plate each sandwich and cut in half if desired. Repeat with remaining ingredients until you’ve made four sandwiches.
